Got my first landie, its a 90 with a 200tdi and auto box (from a disco). Its tidy and runs great normally but I have starting problem now.
Yesterday it wouldnt start (like a dead battery), the AA jumped it but while trying I noticed that the cable for the auto shift got VERY hot. Last night I cleaned the chassis and engine block ends of the earth leads, I didnt do the starter end as its a bitch to get to but they felt good and tight.
What do you think, could it be a faulty starter motor?
