Hi all , at last got some tools for the job (well only jobs I'm able to do) got a set from halfords half price sale on again, first job lower front door hinge, went very well all done in an hour :)

Good,

I hate changing hinges. I always seem to have to do ones with rounded off heads!

Now on with the next job (because there are always more jobs to do)

Well, that's good going. Last time I did any of these the captive nuts inside the A post liberated themselves and the heads of the bolts had to be drilled off. They're much harder than most of my drills so it took more than an hour!

Congratulations are in order.

I've found it's well worth buying a PZ4 screw bit for these hinges. Plenty of releasing oil, hit them with a hammer to shock the screw, then they usually come out ok. Using a ratchet drive allows you to apply plenty of torque whilst pressing hard to keep the bit well into the screw head.
