Wtf!
Yu seem to be conducting a one man vendetta against BBS!
I have had next to no dealings with them, but he was at Billing. I suggest he might be busy.
Put differently.... Stating on an open forum and then not honouring thst committment would be stupid. The peeps on here do not take kindly to scams. A bad name would be spread very rapidly.

There defiantly is no reference to the series 2 disco being Covered only the later models so regrettably I withdraw my stated intention ,good luck to everyone else

I don't think there is any vendetta being waged by P38 Ireland, maybe a little scepticism. The first post on the subject by BBS guy was without doubt a blatant advert. Was that advert placed to help members or was it placed to sell units? The around 10% discount being offered is not really anything new, he has offered this in the past. The thing is if you own a BBS unit the software updates are controlled by BBS, it will never be allowed to expands it's capabilities. If he did that his more expensive units would be obsolete. However the unit that Storey Wilson is developing will have free software with the option of anyone who can do it adding to it's capabilities. That software will then be in the public domain. The way i understand it once the connection protocols have been established the only thing you need to expand a unit to diagnose or maybe re-programme the vehicle is software. If Storey Wilsons unit expands in this way over time the BBS units capable of this and sold at high prices together with software updates for various vehicles also sold at high prices will be redundant. Maybe that is the reason BBS want to flood the market with their units. Maybe he fears for his market monopoly. I have no gripe with the bloke, but would rather wait and see what happens rather than buy something that maybe outclassed in the near future.

Maybe it was an advert - but the offer is beneficial to LZ members.
You dont have to accept the discount and you dont have to buy one.
Surely we should be encouraging peeps to give better prices to L|Z members? Other sites have shops. Everything that can be done to reduce costs has to be good?

I wont be buying one, but then no-one does a diagnostic for a Disco1 - I aint got no axe to grind.

Indeed, cannot argue with that. It is not the offer being questioned but the motive behind it. Storey Wilsons estimate of cost for his inpending unit was $150.00 that's £98.00 plus free software plus a possible expansion of capabilities far beyond the BBS unit. The price may change but it has a long way to go to be £183.00. It is for the individual to decide of course, but i will wait and see which is the better unit.

actually no, just think of me as the voice of reason.

So who got the free one he was offering?

ask yourself who is pushing the most for this deal to go through?? thats whos getting the free on....!

an advert is an advert. if want to come one here and sell something and off a tiny discount can i do that too?? NO I WOULD HAVE TO GO TO THE FOR SALE SECTION....!
