I read somewhere that Land Rover changed the temperature sensor that sits behind the grill, to one with a green band around it which had a wider tolerance allowing the FBH to come on at a slightly higher temperature, allowing the cabin heater to give warm air sooner.
My 2001 Td4 Freelander takes forever to get warm air into the cabin.
Can anyone tell me where I can get this replacement temperature sensor?

Try either LR or a Webasto agent.
You could always wire a switch in parallel with, or to replace the sensor so you can switch it on when you want.

or fit a timer or remote control when my old one had a fbh I got fed up with it carrying on even when the engine was fully hot so I took the fuse out and save some pennies on fuel
