Hello chaps
Im looking for some advice on a dodgey fuel guage on a 2005 td4 .It ran out of juice the other day while still showing a quater of a tank so i brimmed it and the needle went up to full i thought i had cured it .Then a few days later with not many miles done the needle dropped straight down to the bottom and stayed there has anybody had this happen to them

probably a hole in the sender unit bubble but I can not see that myself, but it could be a loose connection try that first although the Freelander gauges are not that accurate

Am I right in thinking if it's the float at fault I would need to buy the whole pump unit ?they seem very expensive !!

the one in the ebay link picture says its for the 2.0 di not the td4 would it be the same sender . thanks for your help by the way

ok thank you i,ll keep looking. ive just been on the rimmer bros web site and if im right with the one ive found its £436  that cant be right can it

Part number is YAD000080
The reason I know is that the kind people on here sorted me out a couple of weeks ago.
I bought it on eBay for about £45 inc postage.

My local LR specialist fitted it for me.
They didn't know about this part but they looked up the number on their system and it was about £53

not been able to find one on ebay so ordered one of landrover parts.com thanks for all your help fellas and talldavey you can add yourself to the list of kind people on here :D

(Update) I ordered the part YAD000080 fitting it was a bit fidly getting the float chamber seated back on the seals but all is good the gauge now works fine .it turns out it was one of the connectors had corroded off so it could have been a simple fix saving me £75 ! Ho hum you live and you learn:crazy:
