Hello again lads,I'm thinking about buying a fcr but don't know which to buy,I have looked at black box units and they look pretty good (but what do I know)is there a big choose out there?I would sooner buy one after getting some advice from the lads that have been using them,I'm looking for price and ease of use and a big point for me is I'm English but living in Portugal so all the messages are all in portugeses as the range rover was first sold here in Portugal,by the way it is a early 2000 diesel,so with a fcr can I go into the menu and change the language,as always your help would be most welcome, all the best lance and a happy new year

Don't think you can change language with a Hawkeye. You certainly can't with a Faultmate FCR. But think you will be able to with the new Nanocom coming out for the P38 sometime later this month. About £300.00 or so i am lead to believe. I know i will be looking at one.

the BBS Faultmate Extreme is the dogs, Nanocom looks like it will be very good, the BBS FCR just reads and clears fault codes. Very good support from BBS on their forum. I believe the language can be changed in the BECM but I'm not sure if all the languages are resident in ROM or if a chip change is required.

Any ideas how much the nanocom might be?it's one of those situations when you want to buy the best but hopefully you will never need it,I've got a 2006 defender 90 that isn't even got lekky windows let alone abs or traction control so I couldn't use the system for that, decisions, decisions

Google Nanocom, the prices for the versions already released will give you an idea of the price for the P38 version. About €300 at a guess against €500 or so for a Faultmate. The Nanocom is not locked to one car VIN, only to one model so you could use it on several P38's:)
