Facelift conversion owners please ?

Hello All,

Well finally done my 2006 supercharged facelift conversion to my old girl (2002)

must i say, all went well thanks to the amazing help from "1992LSE" !

Everything went smooth, All fits together perfect, no gaps in body work either !

plus all the lights work great ! :clap2: (luckily im a sparks by trade)


moving on...

I have fitted a new washer pump tank and new high pressure pumps for the power wash on the headlights.

im struggling to get the power wash to work for the headlights ?

from reading on "FFRR" forum, when you remove the old headlight wipers you need to bridge two cables together on the wiper motor plug to get the spray pump to work as it did before removing the wipers...

i have tried bridging the cables specified but the pump still wont work.

I have even connected up the old wiper motors in place to check and they don't come on anymore either ?

sounds like something needs to be reset as we have unplugged them which may have logged a hard fault on the ECU stopping them from operating ??


So has anyone out there who has done a facelift conversion got your headlight washers working ???

got to say the facelift is a vast improvement ! I LOVE IT

now to sell the old parts to www.Underpigeon.co.uk so they can stick the l322 parts on P38's !!!!

How much was the grill hippo?
I have the 2006 grill but it has water damage to the lacquer , so I either paint it , or replace it?

Bought the whole lot as a package

You can pick up the grilles for about £200 on the bay I think

Sweet upgrade, maybe when I've got some extra pennies.....but for the time being I'll stick with my chuckie faced motor.

If only I could get a facelift for the wife that looks as good...........

When the complex electronics have been underpigeoned anything that can go wrong will go wrong
Ought to be no problem for a sparks.

Your wires in the washer motors anorl

Electronics on a range rover are slightly different to 230v mains electrical systems !

No scotch connectors I'm afraid

Solder connections all the way

Too late, I've just had a facelift...with a frying pan!! Have to see how it turns out, once I can take off the bandages!!

All electrical circuits follow the same basic principles

However, house bashing is quite straightforward and the circuits are pretty similar on every job.( 2year apprenticeship and your good to go)
Auto electricians work on far more complicated systems that are prone to more abuse than a domestic wiring circuit.( however its still a short apprenticeship)

Electrical engineers in Industry probably have it the hardest! To be fair.
As they work on all systems!
Domestic, motorised, robotic, machinery of all types, and have to be able to fault find on various PLC,s ( alan bradley,siemens,mitsubishi,gem 80, Etc etc as well as program the software.( apprenticeship is minimum 4 years but you never stop learning!)

2 year apprenticeship? Twas 5 years in my day as was an HNC
No wonder they know feck all.
