extra fuel tank, 2a swb diesel

Has anybody fitted an extra tank under the tub and between the chassis members? Is it feasible? If so which s/h tank to use?

No, but I had a Series 3 lightweight with 2 tanks, under the driver and passenger seats.

best is the tank like on light weight which you fill under seat you need a tank bracket welding on all parts are standard as it was an option,if for diesel you have to make sure you return to same tank other wise youll over fill one while driving,i can get you parts list if you want

Thanks for the responses but I am already having to use the space under passenger seat to carry battery due to fitting Def 90 engine.

In an 88 your only options are underseat , ala military , they have battery in middle seat position , if you dont have this option then should be possible to let box into rear wheelbox big enough for a battery . With diesel be very careful how you set up dual tanks as a slight air leak will stop you. HTSH

Why can the battery not go in the bay? Surely there is room for it somewhere, even if you have to move/raise/extend the tray?

I would weld on the correct outrigger (if it hasnt got it already) and fit it n the proper place.
