Exmoor seats in my Defender 110

I wanted to update the tried original Defender seats in my 1989 D 110 as the existing seat foam has been detonating in a puff of dust every time I get it the truck. It also helped that my wife thought the seat backs in the second row were too low to be safe for my kids.

After looking at thousands of pictures of different seat options I decided on the standard Defender Exmoor seats in the XS half leather trim. I replaced my two front seats and the 2nd row.

Given that I lurk on LandyZone so much, I thought I would share some pictures in case others are interested.

I will say that these pictures don't really give the fit and finish justice as the seats look great and they seem very well made. Installing them was straight forward, although getting the four bolts for the front seats to line up with the existing holes took longer than it should have (but I could say that about every automotive project I have ever undertaken).

Sorry that a few of them are overexposed. It was actually sunny in London when I took these pictures.

Enjoy!

Looks good Chris,
I take it you can no longer fold the rear seats down?

No, I can't fold down the upper back rear seats. I attached a picture to show how far down they go.

Not convinced about the high rears (but hear all the safety reasons) but love those fronts - they look the same dimensions as originals? Any special deal or straight list direct from Exmoor? (and how much......... ouch??). At 13 years and 200k the seats in mine are very well past their best so should be on the to-do list really - the other Exmoor 'chequer plate' finish looks like the originals? . Nice post, A:)

Yes, they are the same dimensions as the original seats. I just removed and reattached the 4 bolts that held my old frames in.

Yeah it was painful price wise but I do think they will last a long time. I paid ~500 GBP for the front pair and ~600 GBP for the rear seat row (both including VAT). I got a good deal on the front seats from a local distributor as they are technically retrims built on brand new frames with brand new foam.

Sort of where I imagined - and tbh worth it! A
