Another problem, err I mean challenge.

My 2.25 (1979) diesel is running hot according to the temperature gauge.

It doesn't smell hot, but I'd like to make sure everything is OK.

I read somewhere that there are different thermostats, and I wondering which one I should have fitted (as there's a chance it could be the wrong one).

Also, is the temp sender standard or different for differing engines?

Thanks for help

Cheers

if you remove bypass housing off thermostat housing 2 x bolts if you have large slotted hole fit tin gasket with 10 mm hole in center as later engines have as it forces more through rad

Hi again.

I've got a bit of spare time, so working my way through the job list :)

So, do you mean that I fit the orifice instead of the thermostat?

How do I tell which thermostat is correct for my motor?

Cheers

youve got a choice of thermostat 532543 74 degrees or 596225 82 degrees,no not remove thermostat ,the housing that is bolted to side that goes to hose fitted to water pump is bypass housing some series engines need hole restricting to feed more water through thermostat to rad, later engines had smaller hole than earlier
