Since getting it very very dirty, the engine takes a good 15 seconds to get to started from the turn of the key in the mornings. Any ideas?

Absolutely fine once it's been started once.

Could just be a coincidence the dirty bit, i would start with simple stuff first remove fuel filer if its not full to the brim suspect the lift pump has had it.
Discos also rot out the fuel pick up pipes on top of the tank sender, they are steel for some reason, but cant see this being you problem, but worth a look as theres an access panel under the boot floor 6 screws.

Thanks Lynall.

I should add, started immediately after a pay and play where the engine bay was dunked into thick muddy water and not rinsed off particularly well :D

But I shall check the above, cheers.
