I dont think so but even if you can it would be extremely expensive as the vehicle to pass MOT after that, according to the code's description which i posted it can be a wiring issue on that path which needs some troubleshooting or that particular injector which is not a killer https://www.lrparts.net/lr134710-ad...rt-l494-discovery-5-and-defender-2020-on.html so better go on that path and get it fixed, you need a good auto electrician who knows what to do and can access the diagrams

hi mate

also think that with regards to the adblue , also heard if runs out there is some sort of procedure u have to go through , one post was where it was cured after removing the fuel cap, clearing the codes then refitting the fuel cap , others were getting the live data on both DPF sensors , IE- differential readings between them

like ur good self the only thing I’ve found out regarding that code is the following

ps, hope ur keeping well

What the P2047 code means
The P2047 code means a fault is present in the reductant injection valve circuit, bank 1 unit 1. The reductant injector is used to reduce emissions gases exiting the exhaust by injecting either air or chemicals depending on the usage and vehicle. When the ECU detects the fault in the reductant injector circuit, it will set the P2047 code and the Check Engine Light will be displayed on the dashboard.

What causes the P2047 code?
  • Poor electrical connection
  • Open or short in the reductant injector circuit
  • EGT sensor failure
  • Exhaust leaks

hi @NFIN06

just had a thought , has anyone physically checked ur catalytic converter and associated wiring underneath the disco please just in case someone has tried to nick it or the wiring is faulty etc plse , just curious that’s all

May I also ask have u got a multimeter plse , thks

Hey gstuart, nothing has been checked underneath at all tbh. Just got plugged in at this stage.

yeah have multi meter here

Many thks, it was just a thought in case someone had been messing around underneath with the catalytic or the wiring , also seen where wires can get damaged / disconnected etc or theft

Of course ramps would be ideal if u have some , plus not wishing to sound rude but plse don’t ever get under these discoveries without using axle stands

that’s great you’ve got a multimeter as wondering if u would like me to send over a canbus testing sequence that can be done via ur OBD2 socket

will also check if u wish me too if that Autel AP200 diagnostic scanner may work on ur system, seeing there only £60

plus hope this is being helpful to u

Will check underneath this morning. Thinking of buying a set of ramps to have tbh.

just read up on that autel diagnostic tool. Looks impressive and would be great if it was compatible for only £60!!!

not sure how to carry out the canbus reading. Not going to let in that u know.

thanks for help on this. Much appreciated

Took a quick look underneath. No messing around with cat etc. def injector really easy to access. Wondering should I check wiring and perhaps unplug and see if it is blocked??

Quick question. Can you map adblue system out completely??

Yes, but I reckon the hardest bit will be finding someone who can do it, the yanks call it losing weight!
I would hazard a guess with a gutted system, emissions will be impossible to pass?

Unplug the injector and measure resistance across it's pins, if you get open circuit you found the problem, unfortunately i dont know what resistance should have a good one but if it's open then it's clear and you'll fix it quite easy by replacing it. If it's not open then the circuit must be checked and that's not so easy cos you need the diagrams and connector views... these are available on Topix if you have paid subscription

Update: got a proper look underneath. Took injection out and a lot of crystallization inside - see image below. Also notice bare wire on lead on connector to injector.

took injector out, cleaned. Also cut wire, rejoined, soldered and re wrapped with heat proof tape…

All adblue lights out nearly instantly. Engine management light still on but got my mate to turn off so we will see how long it stays off

Can’t upload photo for some reason. Says I haven’t permission

hi mate

that’s awesome and over the moon for u , ref pictures if u copy the picture then paste it into ur thread , that’s for iPad or phone

bet ur well chuffed the lights went out and indeed as u say ur mate with a suitable scanner should be able to clear everything

look forward seeing the pictures , many thks

Thanks all for your help and guidance with this. Just one other issue to sort now. Misty, rear camera . Seen error on fault readings on diagnostics. Wonder should I just source a replacement on eBay and swap over???

Just found this , alas know it’s not on a D5 but assume the principle is the same
