Had to take my engine cover of today to look for the sorce of a oil leek . Witch I found straight away (front cam shaft seal) it was half out resting on the engine harness that bolt ether side of it . So going to pop a new one in ,in the morning once I'veben to LR for one . But noticed how much of the engine harness outter plastic sleave was missing and in places had started to rub the wires inside . So while I was under hood, I ran my hands over over parts of the harness . And found most of the out plastic sleave had perished ,and just came away when touched . So I've cut some heat reprof rubber pipe open and slipped it over all the wires that were showing . Will try to find something better ASAP. My D2 is a 51plate . So if you have not come across this before . Worth just checking the looms round the engine and anywhere else where it can get overly hot . Even worth taking cover of engine and checking loom that goes across the front of engine by camshaft oil seal that's where mine was starting to rub though wires .dont cost nothing to look . :)
