O.K, so what would be the best way to remove engine make lifting brackets ? and can engine and gearbox be removed as one unit I have the use of JCB to lift out any advice appreciated thanks
I'm planning to get the engine and box out of my spares dog in one piece, but I'm not worried if I have to cut the front of the car where the rad went:eek:

I have an adjustable lifting frame that goes on the engine crane. You can wind the lifting eye back and forth along it to balance the load or to tilt the load. Very handy piece of kit.

i have lifted a few of them engines out some of them have an eye just above the starter and onto the front of the exhaust manifold. that will give a pretty good balance. i lifted one by the 2 manifolds . remove all rads and coolers if the engine sways it cant do harm if they are out of the way . do not use inlet manifold for lifting if it is plastic
