Engine & IRD mounts

Just get some sort of bar and lever around the mount, anything more than 10mm in each direction is excessive wear in the larger rubber bush. You usually experience 'engine jolt' when sharply accelerating and de-accelerating.

I had a lower tie-bar bush split on me, sounded awful when accelerating up a steep hill.

I went to my local dealer and was quoted a price

"No Mr Dealer.......you dont understand, I dont want to re-finance the car I just want a replacement bush"

"I'm sorry Sir you can only buy the complete bush and metal bracket"

I have completely modified all my engine mounts. Even the gearbox mount is modified, Referring to replacement of the standard rubber bushes only here.

Lotus copied all of the mounts into the Elise, why they put such standard rubber parts on a racing car I do not know??? They are fine for around town cars.

The rubber bushes flex and distort under load, cornering etc, engine rocks all over the engine bay affecting the handling and weight distribution..........not what you want for a racing car.

You can not replace the bushes alone, I can supply materials for a replacement and some adhesive. You can use the original brackets and bolt housing for the tie bar, all, that changes is the rubber inserts.
