The stage is set. Official Sponsors have been approached and I've spoken to the Royal Association for Disabled Rights (RADAR) who are over the moon at being selected as our chosen benefactors.

Now comes the tricky task of route planning.

You wont be able to manage it all off Tarmac.

The only way to do that would be to speak to every farmer/land agent between lanes and try to link up all of their fields. Big rivers would also present a problem.

Good luck though! just try to be realistic :)

Appreciate that Griffdowg, thank you.

We've already estimated that at least 20% of the journey is totally impassable and I'll be hitting the tarmac for these sections. Going to GPS log the trip and show an exact distance-so-far on/off road on the blog as we go.

The funny part is that we can only leave Lands End by road

Of the remaining 80% we'll need a LOT of work to gain access to private land and national parks. Knew this was never going to be 100% offroad but I guess the real challenge for me is even making the trip in my condition. Going by road would be painful at best, hitting the dirt makes it a real test of enducance

We've approached Guinness world records and asked them to validate the crossing as a record attempt under the suggested title: "Lands End to John O'Groats by car using the least amount of surfaced road". Since it's not an 'international' journey, they may not even consider LE2JOG, but was worth asking.

Get a rib and go up the coast - 100% off road then! :D

Good Luck... I think that's a great idea what your doing. Have some fun and use charities to do it. Outstanding! :D

After flying through her MOT this weekend I've given a little more thought to this and concluded that Red is probably up to the task, so she'll be receiving a host of modifications over the coming months.

Started on Sunday with a bumper circumsission!

On a separate note, Guinness have decided not to back the attempt. Not enough 'international interest' apparently.
