Hey peeps, been looking into electric fans, Noticed how expensive the kit ones are, but have heared of people running other car ones,

Any one want to elaborate a little, what modles, what mods required, Is it better on a switch or wired into a thermo switch ????

Cheers peeps

Halfway down the page is a pictorial and write up on the one I fitted to mine, cost me £15 ;)

E bay universal electric fan 16 inch 35.00 delivered
This is what i have on my s2 and have another ready to fit to the defender.
There are cheaper ones but the s2 one has been on for over a year, been very wet several times and still work so thats good enough for me.
The kenlowe kits are a rip off.
I just control mine with a switch and a relay, so cheap as chips.

This is mine
2ltr Frontara double fan , cut between the 2 fans with 3 rivets in the fan housing facing the floor that slot into the the cowling channel at the bottom of the rad .
The sides just clip into the folds of the rad :) + one bracket that you can see on the top right , wired up dead easy and works a treat :D .

Very Tidy, is that a disco 200tdi conversion kit you have in there???

Was that the bloke off ebay, did you get the exhaust conversion too, Doesnt seem to bad for £160ish

Soz for late reply , yes i got the whole lot of him . it made doing the conversion a shed load easyer and quicker as its a case of straight fit ( you have to cut the 140 degree pipe tho ) and it all lines up really well :) .
Only thing to do is bash the N/S inner wing out to make more room for the 140 degree elbow coming out the turbo so it dont rub through over time .
