if i were to blank the egr valve off, would that not trigger a fault code and bring the emmision light on the dash? thereby fail it's mot (new rulings). i would like to blank it off as from what i'v read you can't lose but i'm worried about the light and as an mot tester i really aught to lead by example so want the car spot on. also the plate goes on the exhaust manifold? but what goes on the inlet to stop it sucking air?

i put the full kit on my td5 which includes a metal pipe from the inlet manifold to the intercooler out let hose. no lights on dash and been through 2 mot`s.

There are lots or write ups on this forum have a quick search. Removing the EGR is a basic mod and cheap. I have removed it and been through MOT's with no problem. It will not throw up an error light.

it will not give u a warning on dash but if u dont disconnect the egr modulator u will have an "EGR valve stuck closed" fault code stored in the EEPROM ... which u can treat with impassivity if u want;)

spiffing!!, is it any better to disconect plug to that and then blank the pipe to the egr or to remove the valve completly and fit the aftermarket pipe in its place as well

remove the EGR valve completly buy a kit for £30 and get it gone. It will improve the airflow into the engine.
