It can appear a steep learning curve but you'll be fine. I only mention the red plug business as it's a classic TD5 issue. If you want to know more don't hesitate to ask.

It's a job to be done at the same time as your MAP, imho.

Dave

Hi Dave,

Just read this post, unfortunately I cracked on cleaning the MAP this afternoon! That will teach me for being keen!! Can you tell me a bit more about the red plug business please? I may try and tackle that at the weekend ( I'm quite enjoying working on the disco even though I tell the wife it's a mare but someone has to do it!!)

Headtester/Rob,

Thanks for the pictures and help guys, I am quietly confident that I have this right now! Best of all I still have all my fingers and working brakes too which is sometimes useful in an automobile!!

Chris.

This site (UP's) will give you the info on the "red plug":

www.discovery2.co.uk / Workshop /Injector Harness

It's the plug on the ECU at the end of the injector harness.

The second and third photos should make it clear.

When you disconnect the battery you will need the radio code for when you re-connect. It should be somewhere with your vehicle docs - possibly handwritten on the user manual.

Disconnecting the battery will not affect anything else you are doing.

With the jack out of the way it's just a question of undoing one screw and lifting the ECU out.

Good luck.

Thanks mate, will have a look at that.It may be the next job to get done, if nothing else supercedes it of course!! ( Well it is a Landy!)

Cheers

Chris
