When I got my 300 tdi disco a few month ago the first thing I did was remove the egr system, yesterday I removed the inlet and exhaust manifolds in preparation to fitting my VNT turbo and I was amazed at how much egr crap was blocking the inlet manifold and ports!!! I am surprised the engine ran at all let alone well as mine did!! and I only have 78k on the clock, what would it be like at 150k!!
My advice if you de-egr take the extra trouble to undo the four bolts that hold the inlet manifold on and give it a clean.
