hi there, eas pump is running what seems like forever, will go to high but sometimes takes couple of minutes, replaced air springs x4 couple of weeks back, car does'nt drop overnight so i'm thinking and hoping not valveblock(can't spare a day to rebuild the sucker!). pump is a bit noisy and on a '98 with 120000 on it ,so maybe im asking a question i already know the answer to:confused:

the motors alright because its running, the problem is the seal. buy a kit of ebay, theres an uprated one from the netherlands for 40 quid. i used this kit a few times with very good result, quick delivery from them aswel. make sure to buy the kit not just the seal.

I've got a similar problem, have just taken a look at the kit and ordered it, another job for the weekend. Thanks for the info.

Just in the middle of doing this seal replacement with the kit mentioned above. Got to the stage where the two allen grub screw are out, then it says in the instructions "take the piston out of the crank shaft, use a screwdriver to loosen if applicable". I've been levering with screwdriver but nothing is moving. Is it just the piston that comes out or does the 'crank' part behind it also come off? Just so I know where to lever with screwdiver...any help appreciated...

Hold the phone, I've just done it, it's both parts that come out. Hope to post some pics later then finished.....:D

cheers chaps very busy at minute hence late reply will take a look when i get the chance boats are controlling my life at moment x3 :( those pics would be nice tho seens you cant get haynes manual.

Fitted the above mentioned EAS pump kit at weekend, went fine although did someone mention 20mins to do it? Must have access to a Tardis or sommert, took me 2 hrs... Anyhow, I also fitted three new anti-vibration mounts to the pump, new mounts bought off eBay. Bad idea , they are not the same dimensions as the original ones (which weren't actually worn after 10 yrs...), the middle steel tube was shorter, got noticeable vibration through the vehicle after fitting. Have put the original ones back on (just nipping nuts  enough to stop washers spinning) vibration now all gone. Pump ran quite a lot after fitting but seems to have reduced now, maybe just bedding in.

One easy job down, one big one to go (wet carpet syndrome...:5bbanghead:)

Depends on skill level and if you have done one before. So anything from twenty mins to two days would be about right on here.
