Hi I've replaced the broken window regulator on disco 1 drivers door. The window will now not sit square in runners and rattles when open. Any ideas how to adjust? Cheers

I was only thinking about when I replaced a regulator many years ago one winter’s morning when I tried opening but it was frozen :(
I just remove the broken one along the motor and refitted the new regulator and the motor, if I remember correctly there’s no adjustment available, so did u fit the new regulator in exactly the same position as the old and the glass was level in the track, or has the glass come detached at the base from its metal supporting rail.

Motor and regulator gone back in same place door glass has also seated ok. It is a britpart regulator might be slightly out. Thanks
Maybe not, but with out the door card fitted you could watch the mechanism it should be obvious why the glass is raising and dropping crookedly therefore not square within the runners... also they haven’t become partly unclipped within the door below the ’waistline’ of the door.

There seems to be lots of play through mechanism when it is moved.
Shouldn’t be any play, The regulator is bolted to the motor and the inner door and the top of the scissors to the underneath of the glass IIRC, but it’s a long while ago since I went looked inside the door.
So tight it would take your finger off if it was in the way.:(

Check your installation. You must have done something wrong even though it's difficult to get wrong...
I did both of my front regulators on my D2 recently, using Britpart. (they are identical to D1) and they work fine with no play.

Checked over fitting of window regulator. Removed and refitted. Still the same. When window is fitted to regulator the mechanism sits down slightly on one corner. The whole mechanism seems to be very loose. The plastic runner wheels are a poor fit in the runners.

Ok those wheels are basic sliders, which they do, if the track they sit in is slippery the wheel don’t always turn.

Do you think there’s a possibility that the regulator drive wheel isn’t engaged with the teeth of the drive motor correctly, IIRC I found that something was wonky we i did mine.
I removed the motor again, lined up the regulator and glass and refitted the motor, with the regulator already fitted in the door (it was bit of a pain) but it seemed that the teeth weren’t mating in a correct position, the regulator teeth engaged with the motor was one tooth out, so the moved up & down a bit “wonky”.

No issues with manual winders :)
