This may be a daft question, but here goes...

Something's not right with the door (courtesy light) switches on my 1991 200tdi Defender. The switches are the round rubber ones with two terminals on the back. There seems to be something missing off the front of them as they come nowhere near the doors and I've got them disconnected so the light's not on all the time. They've been like this since I bought the Landy.

Looking around I can see replacement switches for sale, but they look exactly the same - i.e. no chance of touching the door. Is something missing from my switches ? It looks like there should be some sort of actuator which sticks in the end and touches the door ?

Mine are the same (well infact mine are missing the round switches as I dont know where to get them from?)

There is a thin bracket that hangs off the door and this (because it sticks out) hits the rubber and brakes the connection - light off.

They can easily be bent and broke - I only have 1 on my doors.

Hope this helps
