door lock idea

ive had a search on the internet and on landyzone but am unable to find a answer

my drivers door lock doesnt operate on the fob i have spent 6 weeks looking for a replacement lock

mine is a early type with two plug on the loom found 3 on flebay but dnt want to spend £60+ on a used door lock

the newer type ones with only one plug i can get around £30-£35

what im wondering is can i modify the loom and fit a new type lock

please have a quick look at the plug types on here i have type a

all the colours are the same and reading the info on this site, all wires do the same expect on two plug early ones instead of one plug later ones

i cant see it being a problem modding the loom

I wasn't aware that there were 2 different types. Both my '97 and '99 have the two plug design. I am also looking for a actuator. I only really need the main motor as it has burned out. A new replacement is roughly £140. Where are you seeing them for £35.
I think the smaller of the two plugs is the tailgate release. Shouldn't be too difficult to make the mod on the loom.
