The passenger door lock on my '99 RR has suddenly stopped working on the key fob / remote central locking. I can lock it from inside or by pushing the interior door lock button down and closing the door. Its a right nuisance as I'm sure to leave it unlocked one day when in a hurry and end up having stuff swiped out the car (the only bad point to theft of the RR herself would be that market value is sooo bad insurance would pay out next to nothing .....):(

All the other doors sync correctly and lock on the keyfob, its just the passenger side that doesn't. Any ideas??

BTW, Managed to fix the faulty window switch panel - bought one off ebay from a reputable dealer and it took 15 minutes in total thanks to advice from here how to do it, even managed to tug the handbrake cover /gaiter off ok. See, gurlz can do it, too!! SAVINGS FROM MAIN DEALER QUOTE = £140.:)

the actuator in the door needs either a new one or a clean and re grese, i have posted a few times on the subject so you should be able to find it in a search, if not let me know. basically you need to strip it out, fiddle with it re grease it and then re fit it in the door. did mine like this and it works perfect!

Thanks Gav, yet another project to embark on!! 10 year old p38s can be an ongoing "work in progress" I think, but she's not worth selling as I couldn't afford something else with the money I'd get for her!!!
Is it a long job to get the door card off and get to the actuator? And should I invest in a new set of those plastic clip jobs for the door panel before I even start as they are bound to snap here and there?

yeah get a bag of as you will loose or naker the heads on some, clips round edge and 2 screws in handle and one in door opener and one behind tweeter, twist tweeter slightly towars the rear and pop off!

2 plastic clips broke when i took my door card of but you can get new ones off E Bay very cheap, the door trim is easy to get off, 2 screws in the handle you grab to shut the door, pop the speaker cover in the top front of the card and a screw there and disconnect the speaker the carefully pull the card away from the door and unplug the speaker in the bottom of the card, i can remove mine in under 2 minutes , removing the latch is easy but not much room to get your hands in there.

dont forget the screw in the door opener!

you will scratch your hands inside the door and you will need torx bits for the 3(?) screws in the end of the dorr to release the mechanism.

its a **** easy job and as cossie says card will come off easy fiddly but not a major job!

Oh yes sorry, i forgot the one in the door opener, when you put the screw back in tape it to your screwdriver or you will drop it endless times, well i did
