Ok an old P38
What I mean is... it's working yes but when put on the highest setting the symbol with car with the arrow on on the dash, it still lifts though, then when the buttons pressed to bring it down, the symbol does out and it goes down to normal.
When you press it to the motorway setting (as I call it) or skips that and goes to the bottom one. When it's pressed again it skips the motorway one and straight to normal. But every time it's pressed to the highest, it lifts and the car symbol shows up.

There was 2 faults before I started on the RSW thing and was "air leak" and "car been moved" because it was up on axles. The faults were cleared and so far haven't shown.

But it's this car and arrow symbol when on the highest setting but lifts that I don't get, anyone know.

So would I still pass the mot like that or does it have to be working fully, cheers.

N4 light, Highest setting, full height with cars symbol and arrow.
N3 light, Normal height, no symbol.
N2 light, motorway height. Only selected manually when the button with the Tyre on it is pressed(normally next to the suspension button)
N1 light, access mode. Lowest setting. ;)
The car will enter motorway after some seconds of travel above 50mph and will return to normal height after speeds lower than 50mph or there abouts.
Rtfm:p

I don’t fink they test that the only thing I suppose is the headlight test but not sure I’ve the raise or lower the car but there’s plenty of members on here with mot experience so they be along to put you right mate

My MOT tester only askes if it works and can I put it on high so he doesn't have to struggle jacking it up.

Yer your right there Brian because they all probably know how temperamental the poxy things are and don’t want the hassle of repair

I went through 2 mots with the system disconnected completely and schrader valves on each corner. On the 3rd it had been full of tools which I took out first but neglected to let any air out meaning that the rear end was a tad high.... result was that the tester noticed and insisted the system had to be in working order! I offered to let some air out but he wasn't impressed.

On the high setting you get the dash warning because recommended road speed is much reduced.

The motorway setting only works at speeds approaching 60mph (56??) so if you are sitting in the car n the drive or wherever it is going to jump over it.... its all in the handbook.

They should highlight any obvious leaks or airbags in bad state. No requirement to adjust heights.

Many thanks chaps for all the help it's much appreciated. Yes it sounds like it could be ok (fingers and everything else crossed)

I have the owners manuals ect but can't find them

Sounds like its working Ok to me.

I was under the impression that was the "inhibit" button and should be used when towing to stop any Ht changes:)

You can use it any time I use mine locked in motorway mode most of the time, you get a slightly softer ride.

@brianp38dse

But does it then allow you to force it into motorway mode. Without getting up to speed?

I believe it should but doubt they test it. Why not leave it at standard or motorway height with the inhibit switch pressed?
