Do all R380s have the same final drive?

A couple of weeks ago I had my gearbox and transfer box replaced with a good second hand one. Since then the 1997 300TDi has not seemed as responsive and it is quieter on the motorway as the revs seem less.

So the questions are.....do all R380 gear boxes have the same final drive ratio?

Could I have one with a higher ratio which would explain the slower off the mark and less revs at motorway speed?

Am I imagining it?

Neil

So the slow off the mark could be because I have been buzzing around in an MG Midget while the Landy was repaired. A Landy would feel slow after that.
....and it could be a V8 box which would explain the lower revs.

Have to do a mileage check and see if I am getting any more mpg. I could get under the Landy and have a look at the numbers on it but it is cold and wet.......

Thanks.

Neil

OK....if the sun comes out I will slide under and have a look. The old one is in the garage.

What am I looking for to know the difference?

Thanks folks.......

Will have a check tomorrow now I know what I am looking for.

Might as well change the oils while I am there. The boxes have done 500 miles since swapping so new oil won't do them any harm.

Is it really slow of the mark or just slightly was thinking of fitting a disco tranny box at some point but don't want to make it too over geared :)

Not really slow just slower than I remember
It still makes 70 on the motorway, just takes longer to get there. Back home on Sunday so let me confirm it is a disco box incase it is all in my imagination.

So....it is just my imagination.

Both old and new transfer boxes have a sticker that says 1.410 on them.

Would swear it is slower off the mark with the new gear/transfer box in though.....and the wife thinks so too.
