With regard to the radio(factory fit) the word "security" has appeared.
The battery was disconnected prior to a bit of welding .On reconnecting
the radio lost its code and then went to "security".
Re inputting the code makes no difference what so ever and yes it is the right code as it has been used before.
Any help/suggestion gratefully appreciated.

There's a thread about this somewhere on here, this has happened to me. You have to put the key in the ignition (engine off) at position 1, for nearly an hour, then the display reverts to "code"

I did a search earlier but to no avail. However many thanks for the input and will give it go. :)

To clarify: Radio on, Ignition key at position 1, wait 45 mins to 1 hr, then "Code" should appear in display....make sure no-one can nick your car when your doing this!

I have the "security" up on my radio. So far I have waited 6 hours, with the ing in possition 1, and the radio on,still it won't come up with the CODE screen!
How did you overcome this ?

Most garages now have a device that is clamped across the terminals before welding and this saves all the agro with codes and fried ecu's ect, but I am buggered if I can rememeber what it was called, not alot of help but at the rate these motors rust you might need one in a week or two and could save a bit of grief

The sad point here is it could be fooked

Any way try

switch on radio , "code" appears in display , press preset button 1

press one of the two tuning buttons (arrows , numbers up and down) to select first number . Press preset button 1 to store first digit . Next space starts flashing .

use either tuning button (arrows) to select second digit of code . Press preset 1 to store . Next space starts flashing .

select third digit using tuning arrows . Press preset 1 to store . Next space starts flashing .

select final digit using tuning arrows . Display now shows full 4 digit code . Press prest button 1 to store .

If correct code is entered radio sounds 2 tone bleep and radio will operate .

If wrong code is entered "err" shows in display , do not turn off , wait until "code" shows , then start process again .

At this point do not turn it off as it has a delay function ie worng coad once is 1 min wrong coad twice is 2 min etc etc and if turnd off security will appear. turning it off could (not will) bugger it leave ignition in position 1 for upto 2 hours if this dose not work remove the unit or disconnect battery over night and try again.

Failing that halfords always has a sale on. Or hum and whistle you favored tune.
