Hi all,
I'm in the process of trying to complete the build for my 90 with a T16 engine. I'm struggling to source a few parts for it and would love any help you geniuses can give.
Specifically i'm looking for a Discovery MPi flywheel if anyone has one, or if anyone knows of a Discovery MPi lurking in the bushes that they might break or sell me.
I might have found a flywheel, but it is in Malta, and i'm in not.
I do have a Rover 820 Flywheel- the one that came with the engine, but it rubs against the flywheel housing so alternatively- do you think I could get a spacer manufactured that would sit between the flywheel and the back of the crank?
Thanks in advance!

Adaptor/spacer would be pretty easy, but when you say 'rubs' could you get away with grinding out a little of the flywheel housing? (I'm doing a bit of adapting in this area, and have noticed that several cast bellhousings have been machined to clear ring gears etc..).

Just thought - your adaptor/spacer will be pushing the clutch further back - how much movement will your present clutch fork etc. allow?

Thanks for your response- it's really helpful! I'd never heard of a flywheel spacer, which is why i thought i'd ask the question, but it's useful to know i'm not completely mad and it might work.

The clutch set-up is for a disco, so there should be enough space to fit a spacer (as the discovery flywheel is deeper anyway).

I'm not sure about grinding the flywheel housing back- i suspect it may need to go back by about 5mm in order to clear the flywheel. Although there is enough material to do that, I think there'd be a lot of work involved to get it to work properly.

Cheers!
