Greetings all.please can someone confirm the correct part number for me for the thermostat on my Disco 2001 V8 petrol?
I have this number from my JLR parts book PEM100990, but when i put this in on line i get a lot of responses saying for TD5?
I also get the same part number with a -G on the end with no explanation as to why.
I have read on the forum to avoid the cheap ones as they are no good.

Is the TD5 and V8 petrol the same thermostat or am going bonkers again JLR want nearly £50 with postage and most others are very close to this in prices want to get it right.

Thank you all....

Here’s my list of Thor V8 thermostat part numbers:
  • PEM100990 - Cream is 190F/88C° with Hard Spring (Designed for V8)
  • PEM100990B / PEM101020 - Black or Cream is 180F/82C° with Hard Spring (Designed for a V8 and used as a stopgap with Freelander engines)
  • PEL500110 - Gray is 180F/82C° with Soft Spring (TD5 & Freelander engines)
  • AJ813558 - metal thermostat housing Jaguar 3.0L V6

The G on the end indicates a genuine LR part being supplied.
No, unfortunately it's a kind of maketing scam, a whole mess with these things lately, in most cases the G at the end means it's OEM, and OEM can be a scam too these days, genuine LR part has LR at the end, try PEM100990 or any other p/n with both suffix and you'll see even though there are some which are not working that way
