thanks to landyzone members for their helpful posts and to repairskit UK for their £10 kit . I had the interrmittent non starting faullt. I paid £40 to Pentland Land Rover who thought it was a bad connection to the starter but the fault happened agin the same night. After reading the foums I realised their was afair chance it was worn contacts in the starter solenoid . I got the repair kit from Ebay I was dreading getting off the top "nut from hell" on the starter but the gods were smiling as I happily found out that the starter was off before and the topnut hadnot been replaced. Happy days. Two hours start to finish as I was taking my time with cups o tea every now and then
