My passenger side ride height sensor is knackered (plastic top has broken and bar keeps slipping out) and the side keeps dropping.

I have ordered a new one but it won't be here until Tuesday :(

Does anyone have any good tips for a temporary fix until the new one turns up?

OK, may be answering my own question here but if it works could be of use to others.

Tried tape....didn't work
Tried wire....didn't work
Tried cable ties....didn't work

Have now gone for a last attempt of putting the rod back in place and smearing generous amounts of silicon sealant liberally along the rod and over the plastic head and see if it holds when it sets.

On the plus side, I clocked this was dodgy (held by wire) yesterday when I brought the car and it popped out when I was testing the lift button, listing over soon after. Managed to convince the dealer that it was a problem with the air bags and would cost me money to put right so got £250 off the car :D

Or just disconnect the whole linkage, and cut (or snap...) the end of the plastic armature as close to the body of the switch as possible.

Then there won't be anything 'hanging' on it making it rotate. Then, just dial it to somewhere roughly appropriate, and there should be no further changes in height.

HTH,

David

Very clever, why couldn't I have thought of that
