Hi guys ,

In process of getting a discovery just wanted to check something with you ,

The vehicle is a 1999 "T" 300tdi is this correct as thought they stopped on a R plate and the S was a TD5.

Have searched forum and can't seem to find an answer vehicle is defiantly a D1 body.

I viewed a T reg one when looking for mine. I would imagine it was just not registered for a while after being built.

Oh also, it was a 'Safari' - so I wonder if that was one of the last models they produced to get rid of the stock to make way for the TD5's.

Thanks ,

It has got a suspected HG fail boot floor is mint but around doors need some work .

Its going cheap so thought I would buy as a project

I have seen S and T reg 300 tdi's in the UK

Most of them are home grown ones but some of the T reg ones were Jap imports.
They had the 300Tdi a little longer than us.

Most probably just a car that was sold by a Garage after the TD5 Production run was available. Not unusual.

Rust is a big car killer in the UK if you can get one that is in good nic go for it.

Regards

Jonathan

Correct D1s finished with the 1998MY. In early 1998 the 1999MY D2s were in the showrooms.

The D1 your looking at will only have been registered and not manufactured in 1999.

I had a T reg one, it was a commercial with a Special Vehicle sticker on the side. I bought it as a project like you, head gasket problem. Changed the gasket and fitted a known good second hand head, put in a new radiator and sold it to some farmer bloke from down Somerset way.
