Disco TD5 fuel leak

Hi
one of the fuel pipes on our disco has split ,a rubber one near rear diff .Can it be repaired or to I have to replace the whole lot front to back ?? Wheres best placed to get in from ??

Are you sure it a rubber pipe ?. Its usually the plastic ones from the filter to the pump on top of the tank.

They can be repaired with plumbing fittings, but I did mine with a new set of 4 from Landrover at about £ 56.00.

Dont know,its rubber/plastic..... flexible !! It was raining cold and full of Diesel and was late for a hospital appointment .Will have a better look tomorrow
looks like one of the feed /return pipes that run along top of chassis

Its a common problem.
It,s caused by the water sensor wires chaffing through the fuel line.( as they are left to just sit over the top of the pipe).

I took the tank out to do mine. It wasnt too bad a job.
(I have heard that it can be done with the tank in place).

Thought I would finish the story off..... Now that I have stopped panicking ,it as one of the dreaded plastic fuel pipes at the back that been rubbing on the hydraulic cyclinder for the ACE and worn threw.Had to get disco towed away and tempary fix done at local garage

Best advice ive seen on here seems to carry some 10mm "push in"pipe conectors for a quick fix in and emergency.

Going to order fuel pipe set and replace all when the better weather arrives, wheres best place to buy? seen some sets for 100 quid this right ? are they still on back order at Landrover ??

I paid £ 56.00 for mine from the main dealer !. ( set of 4 ).

I fixed mine 2 years ago. I cut out the damaged section and replaced with a new bit of pipe inserted into the 2 cut ends. Has worked a treat ever since!
