disco 300tdi in 90?

Hi all, another a quick one.
When I bought my 90 I was told that it had a replacement 300tdi disco engine fitted.
Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the two and how I can check if mine is in fact a disco 300tdi or not?

I presume you want to know the difference between 200tdi and 300tdi as you didn't specify what the other engine was. Main differences are 300tdi has serpentine drive belt instead of vee belts and 300tdi dip-stick at front of engine rather than side of engine on 200 tdi.

300tdi (I believe defender and disco are the same)

200tdi (defender)

The 300 TDI disco and defender engine are exactly the same

Sorry Gratch, should've been more clear:doh:; I meant the difference between an defender 300tdi and a disco 300tdi.
