Be suprised if I get any responses to this one :)

As title says, can get it to fit. Has anybody overcome this? I got a 95 300tdi.

Cheers boys

Baby seat! What and where is that, my rear seats all five of them are unused so which one is a baby seat :D

There is not an actual baby seat fitted, it's that the silver cross portable seat, when I try to fit it, the seat belt doesn't wrap around.

Has anybody else experienced the fact that its a short seat belt??

Both out kids seats seemed fine in the back of me 3 dr.

The youngest was bumping round in a Britax First Class - I think, he's now in one of them £25 ones that's always on offer in the soopermerkats, graco maybe??

OK, so there's a likkle bit of space between the side of the interior and his car seat, but that's the wheel arch and not really a lot I can do about it!!

To be honest we've often had 3 kids in the back seat - Tom in his £25 hacker seat, Em on some pink princess plastic thing and Em's mate on a Bubble Bum - blow up car seat - all have been safe and secure even on some mild laning fun where they absolutely got shaken around like beans in a can, but they all stayed belted in place.

Depends I think on the size of the kid, size/design of the seat itself and how they run the belt round it, as in the seat rather than the kid!

I presume you is talking about a seat for a tiny sproglet rather than an older one - some of the baby baby seats, need the belt almost a full stretch and out to the back of the drivers seat to get round the design.

Yes it's a big silver cross baby seat for Poppy our 7 month old. Think that the supermarket idea is a good one, may be we can buy then take it straight back if not right. Good food for thought. Love your name too ;)

Do you really truly trust some minimum wage grunt who's got a susstificate signed by the store manager saying that they is susstified to fit something that YOUR kid is gonna use.

Halfords make you sign disclaimers and Christ knows what - just to cover their arses - it basically says they fitted it in accordance to manufacturers criteria (the strucshuns) and other waffle!

Your best bet is do some leg work yerself on manufacturers web****es and then go armed with YOUR findings to somewhere that stocks your 'chosen' few and give 'em a try - Make sure YOU fit 'em not the grunt as it'll be you whats adjusting it and refitting it after junior has spewed in it after wolfing down 2 babybels and a packet of cadburys buttons!!

Hi

I have a Disco 300tdi and I struggle to fit Britax baby seats in the back, but they do fit with a little bit of belt to spare.

The back seat belts are shorter than those on newer cars as I swap the seats between different cars and they always fit better in newer cars.

I could not find any seat belt extenders when I looked and I was never certain if I did that they would be a good idea.

Double check that the inertia mechanism is not locking up too soon as it can sometimes do so.

I guess if you are using the latest / newer design of cars seats the manufacturer did not think they would be used in cars designed over 20 years ago.

My kids are 11, 9 and 4.

My wife will be selling some of our car seats very shortly as the oldest do not need them and the youngest has grown out of two of them, and some of the others are now spare.

Regards

Jonathan

I found this problem when I had my discovery v8, the kiddie seats in the back would only fit at full stretch of the belt.

I remember seeing in one if the land rover mags from the last couple of months, one of the off road equipment companies selling seat belt extenders
