Hello guys

iv got two discovery's, one driving one parts. the parts is a newer P reg with the two fob system, the older N reg had the one button fob.

my driving N reg has never worked with the central locking on any of the doors bar drivers (indicaters flash and you can hear the system trying to work but with no joy)door on the key. its also never worked on the fob.

can i swap to the two fob system which did work, and the central locking system also so all 5 doors work :)

thanks guys

Can you can swap over the two systems? that will depend on your skills.

But I don't see why the two systems can't be reversed, obviously you will need to make a wiring loom for the two button control unit to interface with the single button wiring system and of course you won't have the passive immobiliser that the two button system has, but the wiring and actuators within the doors should remain the same if anything only the drivers door actuator may have to be replaced.

thanks :) i didnt releise the two button had both where the single had only the one, my skils are well.... their not 100% perfect but i own a disco so i gotta learn somwhere!

is there any really nasty things i need to know about the two or one button system?

2 button has a control unit for central locking, alarm and passive immobiliser.
1 button has a control unit for central locking, alarm and active immobiliser.

What's really nasty about that?

If you don't need much skill to get the central locking working on a single button system, it is pretty basic.
