Wanted Disco 1/ Defender airbox strap

Anyone got one of these lying around?

Pic for example.

I think that the 200 disco one is a slightly different design, so make sure you end up with what you actually want.

I can adapt it. So long as it clamps around a round filter box it'll be fine.

Are the filter cylinders the same diameter?
(I know the filters are different sizes)
The clamp your showing is a 300tdi version.has brackets on the filter housing to suit mount

I believe this is the disco 200 style -



So the diameter is not really in play on that one. I cant tell from the photo, and have never had my hands on a 200 disco, but it looks like it claws onto the side only. Im sure it would be possible to cut and extend the strap to go around a 300 unit, but it would obviously need something to hook onto on the base.

Its possibly getting to the point then where you may have wished you just spent them money on a 300 one! : )

Why would I want to buy a 300tdi one, when this came free with the £100 engine donor vehicle?

Any part number on the air filter? Will be able to cross ref design

So just found it’s a discovery 1 air box..

Has @Flossie got a spare strap- is that why I need to ask him?

I've a few spare D1 200tdi filter housings but no spare straps sorry

Yep, that's how I'm thinking.

Haven't got a spare strap sorry.
I mounted a steel plate where the ac pump goes then bolted the aircleaner to that on rubber bobbins.
Turned the aircleaner 180 deg and welded up the dust franger hole. Intake to aircleaner then faces the os, can be extended with duct hose to a snorkel. Steel tube pipework with 90 deg silicone straights and elbow into the turbo.

Yep, that's the plan. I've got a bit of 4mm thick ally plate that will do to mount on.
