Differences in Freelander Sat Nav units ?

Why would two Freelander 2 vehicles of the same year and spec have different units ?

I am looking for a replacement unit for my 56 plate (07) registered HSE and I found one at a breakers yard which was working. They said it was an 07 plate HSE with the exact same spec as mine. But when the checkled the rear they said it only had three cables going into it where mine has 5. Apperently the last number of the part number is different.

I'm a bit sceptical as I asked them to check both the number and how many cables 5 or 3 when I first spoke to them. They rang me back saying it was the same as mine number and cables but the boss wanted to sell it as a complete unit ie. screen, cables etc... Then they said he would let me have it as he had already quoted me for it.

30 minutes later I get the call saying its different and there had been some confusion. The breakers is in Gloucester and spookily I am down that way all next week so tempted to pop in there any way as I think they are pulling the wool over my eyes. Is there a legit reason why they would be different out of the exact same model ?

From memory there is only 1 version for UK Vehicles.

Yeah i can honestly only think that there is 1 set of cable configurations for the MMM on FL2.

Since its satnav only, no other vehicle specifications should affect it as far as im aware.

Microcat lists different ones depending on vin number, and they changed part way through 07MY

That could be an issue then. It's looking increasingly like I'll be investing in a Tom Tom.
