Hi. This may help! I know you've got a TDI, but goolge "Discovery2". This guy has basically converted his disco 2 to have the same linkage/mechanism as the TDI (The TD5 done away with it as it has traction control). There's quite a few photo's. Hopefully it will just be a case of stripping it down and lubing it.

hi sappy

thanks for your advise, whent on there and got on the case today temoved center consul and drilled out the rivits to the tranny tunnel, found the link arm had come off so refitted and tightened and lubricated the upper linkaged and the slides ther the selecror shaft is.

changed the broken auto selector plate and lubricated that as well.

gave her a test run and got her out of diff lock and away she went the linkages slide better now.

now got to refit the rubber gaiter and the cenrer consul and im done, i think i will use speaker clips and screws to fit it back with some gasket to seal the rubber gaiter incase it dose it again.

but a heart felt thanks
cheers
