Hi all,

I am new to Landrovers and i now have a freelander 1 td4 premium, i have always loved land rovers since i was a kid in my dads old 110, i recently sold my classic mini for this, bit of a difference lol :).

anyway i came to do a little service on it the weekend and as i was taking the plastic cover off over the top of the engine to replace air filter i noticed there was a pool of diesel under it, can anyone suggest why this would be, do i have a common leak somewhere or what, the guy i bought it off said he had had some work done under there cant remember what so is it a case of somethings not bee put back on correctly, sorry if this is a bit vague but i am about a mechanically minded as a lettuce.

Thanks for reading and look forward to your input.

could be either you return pipe on the injectors or a injector not seated properly leave it of and run the engin you should soon see where it is coming from

I'd soak it up with some paper towel and see if it returns.

If he had some work done and someone carried out a leakback test, they might not of bothered cleaning up after themselves.
