Hi All, I need help here, I have noticed my oil level is above the maximum mark on the dipstick. while reading a thread on here it was stated as somthing to worry about so i started worrying. i have had a good sniff of the oil on the dipstick but due to a smoking habbit cannot detect any smell of diesel (tried asking the wife, she just looked at me with a far off expression and asked me if i had been drinking!!) my car is a 2002 td5 discovery (face lift) with the 15P engine. is this more likly to be a cracked head or just the seals on the injectors leaking or any thing else you could think of? The level is significantly higher than it should be so i am pretty sure that its deisel leaking thats causing it. what other symptoms should i be looking out for?

Many thanks

I think you might have worded the title of this thread wrong.

It could be cracked head or injector seals causing it. Start by changing the injector seals and then praying. If it does it again after that you know yer head's cracked.

I think you are both right, I have it booked into the local Specialist for a look see on Monday. Change the seals change the oil and prey. Does anyone know if this head was any more resilliant to cracking than the earlier type?
