Hi all
Can anyone tell me what i suspect in the pics

Having looked at blanking the egr on my 96 Discovery 300 TDI

I think it has already been done

It looks like there is a blank fitted between the valve body and the manifold and also i think i have found the electrical connector sealed in a bag

Let me know what you think ??

looks more like a gasket to me. Give the engine a rev and then see if the egr pipe gets hot. If it does, it aint blanked. Usually the egr pipe is removed and the blank fitted, although I have seen instances where people have fitted blanking plates under the egr pipe.

Ive just had another look

It looks like a gasket either side of the blank plate, got a clearer pic aswell

The suspected blank between the two gaskets is definatly metal

What are your thoughts ?????

If it doesnt turn out to be a blank, it will definatly be getting one

Makes me wonder as the previous owner has sealed the electrical plug and moved it out of the way

make sure if you decide to do the mod you seal the end of the vacuum pipe, or it can affect the brakes on the your Landy

I actually have a spare new in packet EGR plate/gasket, and bolts if you need one pm me for details :)

The more i look at it, the more i am led to believe it has already been done, hence the electrical connector being disconnected & sealed, and the fact that there is a piece of metal between the two gaskets

The vacuum pipe is still connected to the top of the egr valve, would it make any difference if indeed there was a blank already fitted, or should i disconnect this and block it aswell ???

Yeah thats been done mate. My dad's 300TDI is exactly the same. They couldnt be bothered to replace the pipe from the intercooler to the inlet.

As said above, make sure the vacuum pipe is blocked off

I fitted a 2p piece-easiest egr blank for me

Would the vacuum pipe be "blocked off" by leaving it connected to the valve ????
