Hi guys,

I have the 'usual' rear door lock problem with the lock getting seized and requiring regular sprays of WD40 through the LandRover logo badge, but am getting a bit fed up with it as it keeps getting seized at the most inconvenient times!

I need to get it fixed but am not sure exactly what needs to be replaced - is it the exterior door handle or the rear door lock mechanism itself?

Cheers,

David

Had the same problem about 2-3 years ago. Cleaned with WD40 to get handle working.
WD40 is not really a lubricant and i spray the handle with liquid spray grease which runs into the pins before solidifying. This will keep pour handle working

cheers

As above WD40 is not a lubricant it is as the WD states a water dispersant.
Either get some proper lube spray or strip it out and clean and grease the linkages and pins.

I think you better check the makers web site. They say...
"LUBRICATES: WD-40's lubricating ingredients are widely dispersed and hold firmly to all moving parts"

WD-40 PRODUCT INFO UK

Check this is as well http://www.wd40.co.uk/media/images/a/8/LIST_OF_2_000_USES.pdf it lists plenty of lubrication applications for WD40

If you really think you are right that "WD40 is not a lubricant" may be you should get in touch with trading standards

Not all lubricants are equal.
