Defender doors on series

Instead of me buying new doors for my series somebody offered me some defender doors, would they fit?

yes ive seen it a few times, although personally i wouldnt have them unless they had the galv strip and lift up handles to keep it abit more in tradition

you need to get the latch that bolts onto the B pillar too.

yes they will fit,with a little feteling,and adjusting,but dont forget obviosly the new door locks,and the catches,also would probably pay to put new door rubbers on as well,why the change of doors?

at a guess, the all too common dor top rotted and stuck itself to the door bottom, and borrom rail rot.

Mikey you guessed right, so the general opinion is to buy series doors?

yes, but i would like to try a harder rubber as the gasket between upper and lower , to make the door stiff enough to compress the seals and.....
keep out the water!

slly as it sounds, open the doors, put your knee on the meaty bit of the door bottomframe, and bend the door top inwards, then shut the door.

what you need to watch for is the door top flexing back outwards when it touches the seal ifthat makes sense, this means the top is pushing against the seal.

then just adjust it to your feel when it looks about right. mine never leaked.
