Hi all.

I am considering fitting an auxilliary fuel tank to my Defender TD5.
Apparently it just feeds directly into the main fuel tank.

My question is this......how does this affect the reading on my fuel gauge?

I'm assuming the level indicator is in the main tank, so will it just read full at 75L and then run "on empty" for the next 45L?

Might seem like a silly question to some of you but I can't find any information on the web.

Any help much appreciated!

if it feeds direct to main tank it wont affect your gauge, gauge will just drop slower, only if you have isolated auxiliary tanks would you need an extra gauge sender and change over switch

Why the link to a RC hummer?

There are wink tanks available both for 110 and 90. The 90 one is a plastic tank whereas the 110 can be stainless or mild steel.

They both feed directly into the main tank so the fuel gauge stays at full until the wing tank is empty then you are down to the main tank.

On both of our 110 Defenders we have wing tanks, one has a larger main tank as well. The black 110 I do not consider refuelling until have done 6-800 miles on the trip meter.
