Anyone know of a good phone (iPhone 5) mount that can be attached to the dash of a Defender?

I've seen loads of screen mounted sucker types, but I want something that will mount on the dash permanently. Also, it doesn't need an integrated charger as I can just plug a cable into it.

Any ideas?

Mobile Fun do an active mount that screws on by 'Brodit'. Have a search on Google or eBay

The Brodit active ones are good, I've had an iPhone 4 one for over a year and it does what it says on the tin. I have it attached to a 'no-holes' mount which I've had in my car for a few years, the Brodit's mount has a standard 'pattern' so is pretty universal, which is a plus. If the iPhone 5 one is the same as the 4, the USB is fully active which means you can plug it into a suitable in-car head -unit and play your tunes from your phone via the car stereo  as well as using it as SatNav and a phone!

Thats pretty pricey. Especially considering your iPhone will probably break in less athan 12 months :p lol

In all seriousness though, if its in the Defender I assume you'll go offroad/laning while thats fitting, it only looks like the phone is held in via light friction from the foam but mainly from the dock.

It its totally possible that a large knock could throw the iPhone out damaging the dock connector on the phone.

A dedicated holder is a good idea in principle but in practice they're useless cos you have to keep the phone naked with no rubber bumpers or case which most do surely. I use a griffin tough case on mine and a generic holder.
