first of all am I on the right track.. lack of power on petrol and lpg, with no load engine revs freely and sounds sweet, under load lack of power, gearbox kicks down fine and changes well (although a little clunky when taking up / dropping drive - I presume the prop uv's worn and that is seperate issue) I reckon cats.. they've been abused over the past few months with misfiring and flooded engines etc so pretty sure they are fubar... plus I can't think of anything else that would be causing this.. lack of power feels like fuel problem by the way in that no matter how hard you put your foot down you don't get any more revs under load but revs fine with no load..

second, these chaps say they can remove the cats for £70 - 80.. have any of you ever used them and will they do a good job, is it a reasonable price, what sort of special gear are they using and could I do it myself .. their description was that they will drop the pipes, unroll them and take the cats out then roll them back up and put them back on..

who by the way said unrolling etc probably wouldn't work and the best bet would be to cut the cats out and replace them with straight pipe.. £35 per hour...

and I know, this is why I need to learn to weld but I admit to being a little scared of buggering it up..

oh and another question.. if I take the pipes off and drive it in to the engineer for him to sort it then off to work, then home, then back to engineers to pick up finished pipes then... you get the picture.. how long dyou reckon I can get away with driving it with no eggsauce???
