Hi All
Recently had to replace both outer sills for MOT, not a bad job to do and the repair panels fitted really well supplied by Paddocks. The rear wheel metal arch's are corroded and requires some attention, namely a repair panel both sides. Hunted high and low for the panels but no luck, any suggestions please?

I did not realise there were any repair panels at all for the D3?
Which is strange as they are all rusting away under them plastic covers.

Hi Thanks for your replies. When the door is open the corrosion on the wheel arch that joins onto the sill. Will send images tomorrow.

ur so very welcome, always a team effort

did u happen to have side steps fitted plse as have seen where they can become water traps causing the sills to rust out

must confess I fitted some rock sliders on mine due to being worried about side steps

many thks ref the pictures when u get chance

Images of the corroded wheel arches. When I purchased the car it had steps fitted, but not for reasons of ease entering and exiting the car, oh no!!!!!!!! This was a ploy to hide the corroded sills from the MOT tester(I think he was also involved) and it failed its MOT with holes in the sills, camouflaged using black tape. However you live and learn, fit repair panel sills and rear bushes, MOT complete. The next problem if trying to source repair panels for the corroded arches. I do intend to refit the steps.

I think I would clean them, not spotless just get the worst off, treat the rust/quality primer and then hand paint the final colour, allow to dry for a week or two then get a handful of grease and generously apply up inside the arch lip, plus spray chain lube up between the panel gaps, cheap to do and will last a good while.

Plus 1^^^^^^^

also believe the FL2 wheel arch trim fits after to protect the rear wheel arches

That shti is well over priced, just use push on edging, cheap by the metre, and lasts well with a slathering of grease.

This sort of thing, not sure if correct size so will need to measure old stuff, but there are loads of choices for a few quid on ebay.
Plus this listing is for 5 metres!

No idea, just when I did mine the first time a while ago, I bought the freelander ones as recommended by the d3 fourm, then when i saw it was just as crap as the freelanders themselves, next time it was cheap stuff.
