Recently I got ACE amber warning light on in normal drive, and after I restarted engine it was gone. Last time happened a few months ago. Nanocom indicates "Fault 33--06 direction control valve fault", I changed ACE fluid and filter 4-5 years ago, should I change them again or leave them, or ACE valves could fail soon? any ideas are welcome.

Hi, you can't rely on nanocom when it comes to ACE fault codes but it's reliable with live data so if it will keep misbehaving remove the relay, bridge the contact's cavities in the fusebox, read live inputs and post them here then i'll tell you what's wrong

i think you confused the ACE with the ABS m8 ;)

i am afraid you'll have to advise me a little more. Which relay are we refering to and where is it located. Then which contact cavities are we refering to "bridge" and what Nanocom test shows the results.
Sorry to be such a thicko..........but we'll get there I am sure :eek:)
 
Could this be R14 in the main fuse box in the right hand side of the engine compartment? If so it seems very hard to extract. Is there a clip arrangement?
 
You are finding slowly the answers yourself :) , yes it's R14 it must come out if you pull it hard enough no clips involved...unless it was a bad contact there and soldered itself... and yes for ACE inputs with nanocom
 
These are the correct values:


ACE INPUTS

1. DCVs (both) - .001A
2. Pressure control valve: 0 - .012A
3. Pressure sensor: varies between 16 and 19 but if it's out of that range the transducer is gone
4. Residual pressure: between 3 - 6 Bar but can be higher after the vehicle was driven or the ambient temp is low
5. System pressure: around 6 Bar fluctuating
6. Accelerometers: 0.01

for troubleshooting purpose: the resistance of both DCVs(top of the valve block, DCV1-toward front; DCV2-toward rear)= 2.7 Ohm, pressure control solenoid(on the left side of block) = 5.7 Ohm.
 
Which are the relay contacts I need to bridgein R14?

Am I right in thinking that the DCV1, DCV2 and PVC currents being 0 is the problem area?

....and at 20.0 bar the residual pressure is very high too
 
I think the DCVs are 0 cos the system is in the "locked bars" default, the PCV can be 0 that's not a problem, the values i posted are for fully working system not with byassed relay... you should measure resistances at the ACE ECU connector, unplug it, pin 24 is common for both DCVs so one probe on this one then measure to pin 22=DCV2 and pin 23=DCV1 for the PCV across pins 25-27, disregard the red line, that's fr the warning light... btw swap the relay with the horn one to rule it out then see inputs with relay in situ

I swapped the horn relay over to the ACE and visa versa. Horn works with ACE relay.

Fired her up and took these readings:

Engine speed:719
Road speed: 0
Batt V: 14.38
DCV1 Current (AMP): 0
DCV2 Current (AMP): 0
PCV Current (AMP) : 0.09 to 0.19
Pressure sensor (BAR) 017.27 (varies)
Residual pressure (BAR) 04.68
System pressure (BAR) 04.72 varies
Upper lateral accelerometer: -00.01 (Varies)
Lower lateral accelerometer: -00.01 (Varies)
Ignition switch: ON
Reverse switch: NOT REV
Main relay: ON
Warning lamp: OFF

DCV1 2.6 ohms (pins 23-24)
DCV2 2.6 ohms (pins 22-24)
PCV 5.5 ohms (pins 25-27)

I have PowerProbed DCV1 and DCV2 from the ACE ECU main connector and you can hear both operating OK.
PowerProbing the PCV it draws current, but I cannot physically hear it operating
